Tirschel Photography's Family of Photographers began in 1915 with Richard's grandfather Joseph Tirschel and followed by his father Lyle, his Uncle's Les and Dudley, and for the past 55 years by Richard Lyle Tirschel himself.

  Richard Lyle "Duke" Tirschel

An already seasoned photographer, Richard L. "Duke" Tirschel, met Chuck Norris in 1969. In addition to being National Director for Chuck Norris' Nationwide Organization of Karate Schools, they became affiliated in a Motion Picture workshop, a Los Angeles Advertising Agency and out of this experience came Tirschel Martial Art Photography.

Tirschel Photography has photographed nearly 100,000 Martial Art students in 38 states and Canada over the past forty years. Tirschel Photography was the Official Photographer for the Modern Pentathlon in the 1996 Olympics, the writer and photographer for a variety of Martial Art magazines such as Martial Art Insider, Black Belt, Professional Karate, Official Karate, Inside Kung Fu, Combat et al.

              Rhonda Strantz

As a portrait photographer, Rhonda is especially skilled at photographing families, children, seniors, and groups by bringing out the individual qualities of her subjects through the use of natural props, lighting and  backgrounds.

As an action photographer both for Martial Art schools and tournament action coverage for magazine and press, her many years of teaching karate and working with groups, particularly with children, has provided her with the ability to put her subjects at ease. Her active participation in a wide variety of sports provides her with a unique perspective into what it takes to capture the action images that bring each personís unique ability to life.
